BALKAN
DESK TERMS OF REFERENCE
The working plan of the Balkan
Desk occupant is as follows:
First
month: Study on the current
mountain conventions (Alpine
and Carpathian), their actors,
priorities for implementation,
how they are benefiting local
people and communities, how
they are integrating conservation
and the sustainable use of
biological and landscape diversity
into national sector policies
; writing a report on these
topics
Second
Month: Exploring the
ways of Euromontana involvement
into Balkan Mountain Convention;
Establishing contacts with
other organizations and European
Commission (Environment DG)
in Brussels and their possible
involvement into Balkan Mountain
Convention; Exploring the
possibilities for supporting
the Balkan Mountain Convention
from the organizations in
Brussels; Writing a report
on these topics
Third
month: Establishing contacts
with other organizations and
donors outside of Brussels
(REC; SDC; USAID; UNDP), their
possible involvement into
Balkan Mountain Convention,
and if the possibility arise,
preparing a funding proposal;
writing a final report
Apart from
the above tasks, during all
three months, the Balkan Desk
occupant will also be in contact
with the other two organizations
(Bulmontana and Romontana)
and should forward relevant
information related to the
project. Bulmontana is already
a part of Balkan Mountain
Convention Initiative.
